In line with our sustainability objectives, the Plastic Free Champion status and award recognise that our team have drastically reduced the amount of single-use plastic in the workplace. Plastic pollution is a problem that encompasses both the environment and society and is something that we have the power to address by cutting down consumption and using alternative materials.
For four consecutive years, Moore Insight has achieved and retained the ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification. The firm is committed to being sustainable and has vigorous quality practices in place to ensure that it conforms to the international standard and follows its Carbon Reduction Plan.
Laura Schofield, Quality and Operations Manager at Moore Insight, said: "As Quality and Operations Manager, I am committed to minimising the firm’s environmental impact and am responsible for ensuring that the team take the environmental policies and programme seriously.
While working towards the Plastic Free Champion award, I became aware of the overwhelming volume of single-use plastics in circulation and how making simple changes, such as using reusable mugs, bottles and cutlery in the office, has made a significant difference to our usage.
In the future, we aspire to progress to the silver level award, followed by gold. A continuous improvement plan has been put in place to ensure that we continue to improve our sustainability efforts and educate the team and the wider community.”
